The visit of the castle of Blois

Our group visited the castle of Blois on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 13:00 to 16:00. Our guide’s name was Scot, he was American. We started the tour with an introduction in English of the history of the castle in the courtyard surrounded by different wings that made us feel dizzy. Then we walked to the room of gargoyles. We took the spiral staircase created in Leonardo Da Vinci’s times. He then showed us the king’s room, the room of secrets and the throne room. We also visited an exhibition where there was a gold heart-shaped box which used to contain Queen Anne of Brittany’s heart and we could see a book about her life from her birth to her death. We ended our tour with the description of the painting "The assassination of the Duke de Guise". The guide answered all our questions in English and we completed a questionnaire. Our visit was very exciting and informative.

Notre groupe a visité le château de Blois le 1er avril 2014 de 13h à 16h. Notre guide s’appelait Scot et il était américain. Nous avons commencé la visite par une introduction en anglais de l’histoire du château, dans la cour entourée de différentes ailes de quoi nous donner le tournis. Puis, nous nous sommes dirigés jusqu’à la salle des gargouilles. Nous avons emprunté l’escalier à double révolution crée à l’époque de Léonard de Vinci. Il nous a montré la salle du roi, la salle des secrets et la salle du trône royal. Nous avons aussi visité une exposition où il y avait une boîte en or en forme de coeur qui avait autrefois contenu le coeur d’Anne de Bretagne et nous avons pu voir un livre sur sa vie de sa naissance à sa mort. Nous avons terminé notre visite par la description du tableau "l’assassinat du Duc de guise". Le guide a répondu à toutes nos questions en anglais et nous avons complété un questionnaire. Notre visite fut passionnante et instructive.
